Ben & Nathaniel ~ Pike & Joyce

Ben and Nathaniel’s ceremony took place at the breathtaking Pike & Joyce winery, where the rolling hills provided a stunning backdrop and endless views. It was their 10^th year anniversary and the weather was amazing. All just perfect for their outdoor, intimate celebration with their closest friends and family. It was truly perfect.

So let me tell you a little bit more about Ben & Nathaniel’s epic love story. Their journey began in 2013, when, on a wild night out on the town, Nathaniel spotted the handsome Ben. Despite Ben’s initial indifference, Nathaniel was determined to pursue him. The next day, Ben’s friend showed him Nathaniel’s photo and told him that he fancied him, which a now sober Ben said.  ‘WOW are you sure? I would have remembered meeting him!’

Fate brought them together again just weeks later at a party on Henley Beach and they got on like a house on fire! Although they were trying to keep it all cool and casual, they just couldn’t stop thinking about each other and when they literally bumped into each other at the Adelaide Fringe they finally swopped numbers and it was all official. This was the 10^{th of} March 2013. From this day there was no doubt, they became inseparable and fell crazily in love.

Fast forward to December 2022, Nathaniel planned a spectacular proposal during Ben’s 40th birthday celebration in Bali. For anyone who knew Nathaniel nothing less than a perfect proposal would have been acceptable to him, and he was going all out. There was a swanky hotel overlooking a rainforest, there was vintage Moet, there was their own private hut all set up for dinner, some candles, a rose heart in petals on the floor and a balcony overlooking the most divine tree top vista. At first Ben didn’t realise this was all for him as he politely asked the waitress if he could have a little look and thought about the very lucky person all this was for. He carefully went around it all to look at the view and at this point. Nathaniel couldn’t hold it in any longer, he shouted over to Ben to come back, placed him in the centre of the petal heart and told him this was all for him as he dropped to one knee and asked him to marry him!  

Their only hiccup that night was accidentally shorting out the resorts power when they turned the bubbles on in their jacuzzi which was full to the brim with petals, and some had got stuck in the pump -they don’t show this part on Tik Tok do they!

Ben and Nathaniel’s day was everything they dreamt it to be. They wanted something intimate, surrounded by friends and family, filled with moments of reflection, celebration, humour and lots of laughter and this is exactly what happened. It was beautiful.
